My Search for a Better Mattress
My husband and I were planning to replace our king mattress within the next year. When Bare Home reached out to me about trying one of their mattresses, we were ecstatic and even more impressed after reading about the quality and design of their products.

Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress

I actually appreciate the Bare Home only offers one mattress. This minimalistic method takes decision fatigue out of the equation and due to its versatile design, it will work for a wide variety of sleepers.
Design
The 11” Bare Home Clean Classic Mattress is made up of five intentional layers: a breathable top cover layer, an extra thick 2” pressure relief layer, a responsive support layer, a motion isolation layer, and a durable bottom cover layer.
The top layer is designed to cradle your body and provide cooling comfort. The 2” visco memory foam supports spinal alignment and pressure relief. It is designed to support your back, hips, and shoulders while you sleep. The 2” transitional foam is a high density foam that works with the previous layer to provide more comfort. It allows comfort and movement while you sleep without leading to a sinking feeling.
The fourth layer is where the bulk of the mattress is at. The 7” of high-density foam make up the structure and support of the mattress. The final layer is a shift-resistant fabric so that you won’t have to worry about your mattress sliding around while you sleep.
This mattress is designed with innovative motion isolation. It allows couples to move for their own comfort without disturbing their partner. This mattress comes with a 10 year limited warranty and is designed to last.
Sustainability and Certifications
As I mentioned above, the creator of Bare Home wanted to provide cleaner bedding options at a price that wouldn’t break the bank.

Bare Home mattress boxes are certified with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
All of our foams used in our mattresses are CertiPUR-US® certified. CertiPUR-US® certified foams are made without harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, made without ozone depleters, made without mercury, lead, or other heavy metals, and are made without phthalates as regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.”
In addition, Bare Home’s foam is made in the US and their mattresses are assembled in the US as well.
Competitor Comparison
Our old mattress was from Tuft & Needle which is similar to Bare Home in the sense that it was shipped to our house and expanded once opened. Our previous mattress was firmer and while it was a good mattress overall, I often woke up with lower back pain and we decided it was time to try a new mattress.
Unboxing and Initial Impressions
When the mattress first arrived in the mail, we worried that they sent the wrong size because the box was so compact! However, after opening it up, it expanded to a king size bed within a matter of seconds.
We live in a 1920s home, and the only way we got our previous mattress upstairs was because we had yet to add a wall at the top of our stairs. We knew that we would not be able to purchase a king mattress in-store and get it up our stairs, so Bare Home’s compact design was perfect for our tight space.
After taking the mattress out of the box, I unrolled it. Then, I carefully cut the excess plastic. Once the air seal broke, the mattress expanded. It can take 72 hours for the mattress to fully expand; however, we still were able to sleep on it the first night.
After opening up the mattress, I was impressed by the soft, yet cool feel of the mattress cover. This cover can be removed for washing, but I still recommend a mattress protector to keep it clean. I appreciated the minimal, clean design of the mattress and that it doesn’t have uncomfortable coils or springs.
I laid down on the mattress to test it out and almost fell asleep. 20 minutes later, I forced myself to get up although I didn’t want to because the mattress was so comfortbale. My husband said the same thing.
First Night of Sleep: Bare Home Mattress Review
We have four kids under six and wake up frequently during the night, but every time I woke up I thought about how comfortable the bed was. It genuinely is what I imagine sleeping on a cloud would feel like. Our previous mattress was a bit too firm. This mattress is slightly less firm, but it is not so soft that you feel like you are sinking.
For the first time in months, I woke up feeling well rested and without lower back pain. The mattress molds to your body yet still provides good support. I alternate between sleeping on my back, side, and stomach and I was comfortable no matter how I slept.
One Week of Sleep: Bare Home Mattress Review
After a week of sleeping on our new mattress, I have continued to wake up without back pain. While I still wake up during the night because I have young children, I am getting deeper rest and wake up less frequently due to the quality of our new mattress from Bare Home.
