best place to buy loose leaf tea

Whether you love hot tea, cold tea, or are trying to cut back on coffee, Farmhouse Teas is a one-stop-shop for all of your tea needs! In my opinion, this small farm, family-operated business is the best place to buy loose leaf tea. They offer delicious blends, organic options, and endless herbal choices!

All About Farmhouse Teas

Farmhouse Teas was started by CeAnne—a farm wife and homeschool mama of four in Oregon. CeAnne and her husband are passionate about using herbs for their health benefits.

In 2014, they left the city for a small 2 acre farm. This fact instantly peaked my interest because my family’s homestead is about the same size! What started as a passion for growing food and herbal medicine for their own family, soon turned into a business endeavor.

CeAnne and her husband adopted their four children. They share on their website how their farm business has enabled them to have more time with their kids—giving them space to grow and thrive at their own pace.

CeAnne and her family initially grew some of the ingredients for their teas. But, they quickly learned that growing the tea and managing all of the business aspects took too much time. They still grow some herbs that are difficult to find. However, now they also purchase many of their products from other small family farms.

Products Farmhouse Teas Offers

Additionally, they sell tea accessories, coffee replacers, kombucha supplies, herbs and spices, apothecary items, bath and body products, and home goods.

Who is Farmhouse Teas For?

Farmhouse Teas is a perfect brand for any tea lover or someone who wants to learn more about loose leaf tea. Their website is helpful, informative, and offers teas for all preferences! If you are new to loose-leaf tea, their website is a helpful resource for learning about all of the different kinds available!

They also offer teas that can aid with anxiety, digestion, energy, sleep, immunity, stress, and more.

My Review of Farmhouse Teas

I have always loved tea, however I drink it more frequently while pregnant because coffee often makes me nauseous. Additionally, I struggle with anxiety and find tea much more calming and less triggering than coffee.

I love how Farmhouse Teas is a family-run business. Just from my interactions with the owners through conversation and reading about their business, I can tell that they care about their customers and the products they create.

I was also really impressed by the packaging and branding from Farmhouse Teas. I used to own and operate a small, handmade clothing business, and I know how much time and thought goes into these endeavors.

Yes, you can order tea from Amazon or a big-box store, but there is nothing like having a personalized experience from a small farm and family who packages each order by hand!

Loose Leaf Tea and Other Products I Ordered from Farmhouse Teas

Farmhouse Teas reached out to me and offered to send me some teas of my choice in exchange for sharing my honest thoughts. My kids and I love everything we have tried so far! The owners’ sent a few extra tea samples, some lip balm, and marigold seeds, too! I love these personal touches that only come from a small business.

Here’s what I got and my review of each item:

Trial Size Starter Pack: Organic Loose Leaf Teas ($27)

I love the option of the starter pack because I was able to try three different types of tea to see which one I preferred. You can also buy the tea individually in trial sizes, 2.5 oz bags, or by the pound.

You can choose three different teas from a long list to try! Each sample bag makes approximately 12 cups of tea.

See the starter pack options here.

Cottage Peach Rooibos Loose Leaf Tea (Herbal)

“Sweet nutty rooibos paired with organically grown and preserved peaches. Dotted with ginger and calendula. This is a lovely tea with a smooth finish and features peaches from Bella Viva Orchards in California. Bella Viva means Beautiful Long Life. Quality and taste without added sugars or chemicals!”

This tea is caffeine free and our favorite out of the starter pack! It smells heavenly and has a distinct peachy flavor. It’s delicious with milk and honey, and I know it will be a favorite that I reach for over and over again this summer!

Orange You Glad Jasmine Loose Leaf Tea (Green)

“Enjoy the fragrance and flavor of organic jasmine green tea with a blend of chamomile and goji berries. This green tea blend is scented with beautiful jasmine flowers, bringing relaxation and thoughts of joy and happiness as you sip this aromatic blend.”

This low-caffeinated tea has a mild fruity-floral flavor. I have only had it hot, but I think it would be delicious made into an iced tea! My kids liked this tea with honey mixed in. It has a very mild flavor if you don’t like strong teas.

Sweet Maple Chai Loose Leaf Tea (Black)

“Oh my chai! What is there to say about you, you are full bodied dark brew with the sweetness and spice of cinnamon, cardamom and other beautiful herbs. Add some maple to you and you become something ultra special. This chai is lower on spice and higher on the sweet due to the lovely maple undertones.”

This tea has medium caffeine and has a delicious, sweet, spicy flavor. I love having it in the evenings with milk and honey. I think this tea would pair well with warm gingersnap cookies in the fall!

Herbal Elderberry Syrup Mix & Free Recipe E-book ($37)

“This DIY Elderberry Syrup dried mix is perfect for stashing in your pantry or herbal cupboard for when you need some extra immune support. No more waste or forgotten syrup in the refrigerator. Our hand-blended family recipe includes organic elderberry along with other immune-supporting herbs. Take daily or the first signs of cold or flu.* Get all the benefits of organic elderberry syrup by making your own gummies, along with other fabulous recipes in the free e-book!”

We are growing elderberries to make our own syrup, but they aren’t ready to harvest yet. This elderberry syrup mix is a great place to start if you want to make your own elderberry syrup without starting from scratch. The free, included recipe book walks you through how to turn the mix into syrup, plus it provides delicious recipes to try!

Elderberries are high in antioxidants and can help support your immune system. I want to incorporate elderberries into my families diet to support their immunity, and I think this mix will be the perfect place to start!

Tea Bag Paper Filters (100 pack) ($12)

I have reusable tea filters, but the owners sent me these tea bags to try! They will be perfect for when we are hosting a large group or if my family wants to have different types of tea at the same time. I also really liked using them with the peach tea because it was more fine and leaked through my tea strainers. These compostable bags keep the tea leaves from spilling into the drink.
